About me

Research

I am a PhD researcher in Biological and Environmental Sciences, working on acoustic monitoring as a means of assessing bioiversity and ecological function in restored woodlands. My research focusses on the application of ecoacoustics and acoustic analysis tools to fundamental questions regarding the process of ecological restoration.

My research covers a range of issues in restoration and acoustic ecology, including: ? How ecoacoustics can be used to assess biodiversity and ecological function in restored landscapes ? Methodological best-practices for ecoacoustic monitoring ? Time-lags in ecological restoration; and soundscape implications for the welfare and fitness of species.

My PhD takes place within the aims of the Woodland Creation and Ecological Networks (WrEN) project, as well as some other woodland restoration related projects.
