Abstract
Capture¨Crecapture techniques have contributed greatly to primatology. This entry provides an overview of how researchers conduct capture¨Crecapture studies of primates, what data can be collected, and what can be learned from that data. Capture¨Crecapture studies enable researchers to study the distribution and movement of individuals throughout a habitat, population density, and population changes over time. When capture¨Crecapture data are combined with morphometrics, genetic sampling, hormone sampling, and/or health examinations, and so on, it becomes a powerful tool for learning about primate genetics, health, behavior, and conservation.
