Abstract
First paragraph: Members of the Independent Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Independent SAGE) will be rightly regarded as independent analysts, not ¡°rebels,¡± by many external observers like me.1 Their evidence based reports are valuable syntheses of research. Their related advice is of practical use. Some people, whose own covid-19 messages are often confused, contradictory, flawed, and wrong, might try to interpret Independent SAGE¡¯s direct and clear messages as ¡°confrontational.¡±
